The 1982 Sugar Bowl was one of the most exciting bowl games in college football history and showcased one of the best teams in Pitt history. The Panthers defeated Georgia on a Dan Marino touchdown pass with seconds left to play hoisting them to a Sugar Bowl win, an 11-1 season, and a no. 2 ranking. The game also highlighted some of the most celebrated Pitt players including three College Football Hall of Fame inductees and one member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
