The win was the fourth in a row over the Tigers, matching the longest streak in school history. The game also saw several records fall: head coach Steve Spurrier became the winningest coach in South Carolina football history with 65 victories; Jadeveon Clowney set the South Carolina single-season record for sacks with his 4.5 sacks in this game giving him 13 for the season; Ace Sanders set the single-season school record for punt return yardage.
